Health Benefits of Golden Milk Ingredients
Turmeric: This bright yellow spice has the compound curcumin, a quite potent antioxidant. It’s easily available in almost all stores.
Ginger: Ginger is a wonderful aid for digestion and nausea problems, including the morning sickness of early pregnancy. It contains gingerol, which lowers oxidative stress, a free radical reaction that leads to inflammation. It is also known to fight infection, which may fight underlying causes of inflammation.
Cinnamon: Cinnamon is composed of cinnamaldehyde, a compound that may neutralize inflammation. It also provides a beautiful aroma while heating, and a aromatic flavor. Cinnamon may also help lower blood sugar.
Black Pepper: Just a hint of pepper will make the turmeric bioavailable to the body, so always add pepper to anything made with turmeric.
Coconut Milk: Coconut milk is a rich, dairy-free alternative milk that lowers inflammation. It also provides a smooth base for a hot latte. Coconut milk is full of medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), a type of fatty acid that provides a quick source of energy for the body.
Sweetener: Raw or local honey, or pure maple syrup are natural sweeteners that pair well with the delicate spices in this recipe. For those on a sugar-free diet, substitute with erythritol. This is the brand that I use; the granules dissolve quite well and it is used ina 1:1 ratio for sugar; I use about 1 teaspoon per recipe.
Cardamom: Cardamom has a tannin, dry flavor and some regularly add it to their coffee. It is a free radical scavenger that may protect the body’s cells from inflammatory damage. It may also help reduce bloating and gas.
Coconut oil or ghee: These healthy fats increase the bioavailability of turmeric. The use of coconut oil in this milk dates back to Ayurvedic practices, where they used fat to aid digestion.
Use this Golden Milk for relaxation and as an anti-inflammatory for pain management.

Below, I doubled the recipe for a group of four.
Enjoy!
If you prefer the smoothness of a turmeric latte, you may strain it through a fine-mesh sieve. You can also alter the spices and put more or less of these. But for children or pregnant/nursing women, cut the spices in half.
Best Use of This Remedy
Adults may enjoy this remedy once or twice a day. Children over the age of two years can enjoy this remedy in small increments, such as one quarter a cup, once a day.
For children under two years of age, the spices may overwhelm the digestive system, so avoid this drink. If someone is on blood thinners, they may want to consult with their healthcare provider, since turmeric may interact to cause an adverse effect.
STORAGE: Best to store this drink in an airtight container in the refrigerator for three to a maximum of four days.
In warmer climates, go ahead and freeze the remedy for 2-3 days by pouring it into a tray for ice cubes. Feel free to also enjoy using the cubes as a frozen anti-inflammatory golden milk smoothie!
In cold climates, you may then reheat the ice cubes, then place three cubes in a small saucepan to heat over low-medium. If the drink comes out too thick, just add more almond milk, buttermilk, or water.
Thank you for reading my writings and supporting my efforts! Enjoy!
I wanted to be the first to share. Watch your source of turmeric. Seems India has been adding lead and one other thing. (Can’t think what) my husband had some blood work and his number for HS-CRP was 7.8 which made him a walking stroke victim. Took 18 months to get that number down to 2.2 which is still high. Took a lot of research on my part to change his diet and over and over the ginger, turmeric and cinnamon came up. I ended up making capsules of each and he took two a day of each. These spices really helped him. 10 is the highest for testing the inflammation of blood vessels. Choose organic especially for turmeric. Excited to try these. Thanks for sharing this.
I have turmeric from Qatar. Do they spray their food?
