This simple dish looks beautiful and tastes even better! Cook on cast iron for best health:).
Cayenne Brown Sugar Salmon
Salmon
Cayenne pepper (thins the blood)
Brown sugar
Fry salmon in skillet covered in olive oil. Cover with cayenne pepper and brown sugar, sprinkling to taste. Ok to let sugar go over the edge; it makes a wonderful sauce!
Turn after 3-4 minutes, fry again for 3-4 minutes. Cook for 15-20 minutes total and include any drippings and skins on top of finished salmon.
Garlic Parmesan Cheese Asparagus
1 bunch of asparagus
3 cloves fresh garlic
Salt and pepper to taste
Olive oil
Cover skillet with olive oil. Add 3 chopped cloves fresh garlic and fry on medium-high for 10 minutes total, flipping every 2-3 minutes. In the last 5-10 minutes, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
Honey Wheat Bread
2 cups warm water
1 tablespoon yeast
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 cup honey
White and Wheat flour, about 2-3 cups of each
In a large bowl, mix yeast into warm water. Add salt and a trickle of the honey.
Check yeast activity for bubbling in 5 minutes. If not active, yeast may be spent and the dough won't rise.
First Rise
Then add remaining honey, oil, and 1 cup flour. Mix. Then add 1/2 cup flour and mix. Add remaining flour 1 cup at a time, until dough begins to form in a sticky mixture that moves from the sides of the bowl. It should stick to your fingers and be slightly wet. Add more flour if needed.
Mix for 5-8 minutes on dough blender or put on lightly floured counter surface and knead.
Cover with a towel or plastic wrap (oil the wrapping first) and let rise for 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hours.
Second Rise
Turn onto large bowl covered lightly with oil. Punch air bubbles out, and then knead for 5 minutes. Then place in oiled bread pans and cover with oiled plastic wrap until doubled in size, about 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hours.
Bake
Bake at 350F for 30-33 minutes. It may not brown like the loaves in the store. Cool for 10 minutes, then turn onto cooling rack. Enjoy the aromatherapy!
Cut and top with butter and freshly diced garlic cloves to taste. Can sprinkle with paprika and parsley for added color.
Enjoy!
Serve with lemon water and white wine. A Chardonnay or Pinot Grigio is perfect!
Yummmy!
